Who I am
I am Ailsa Richardson. I work and live in the UK, and can be contacted through my contact form. My website address is: https://ailsarichardson.com.
What personal data I collect and why I collect it
Enquiries and purchases – I collect the personal information you give me when you complete my online contact form or when you buy something from my website. This includes name, email address, phone number & your query or instructions for your purchase. I collect this information to enable me to contact you to respond to your query or instructions. The lawful basis for processing this data is ‘consent’: You have given me clear consent to process your personal data for the specific purpose of submitting a query via my website form.
Should you contact me by phone or other contact method, with an enquiry, the same lawful basis of ‘consent’ applies. You have given me clear consent to process your personal data for the specific purpose of responding to your query.
I also use the lawful basis of ‘legitimate interest’. I collect your data in order to supply you with information or services you have requested.
For purchases, I do not collect your card or other financial details: these are handled and stored by the card processing company. To make a payment to complete a purchase, you are transferred to their website. See their website for their own privacy statement.
I maintain a mailing list to send occasional news to interested parties. I will not add your details to the list without your permission. Emails from the list will include an option to unsubscribe from the list.
What technical data I collect and why I collect it
Analytics – From time to time, my site may use cookies for analytics – that is, to measure how many people visit the site, which pages they visit, and whether they return to the site later. This helps us see what people are most interested in, and improve the layout of the site. We don’t identify individual visitors this way.
Sales – If you use a form to buy an item online from this site, the form uses cookies to keep a note of the content of your shopping cart as you look at different items. The cookie expires after 24 hours and the information it stores isn’t used for anything else.
How I store your data and how long I retain it
Your data may be stored on my email account and computer system. The data that is kept is used to enable me to provide the services you have requested. Emails are deleted should they not need further attention.
Technical data and website analytical data is kept on Google Analytics and is kept indefinitely.
Who I share your data with
I, Ailsa Richardson, am the only person who has access to your data, and control who sees it.
I will not share information about you with anyone else, without your express or implied permission.
I do not share data with anyone for marketing purposes.
Information gathered from the contact, purchase, and mailing list subscription forms may be sent through a spam detection service.
What rights you have over your data
You can ask for a copy of any personal data I hold about you.
You may request that I correct or erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
My data breach procedures
Should I ever be made aware of a data breach, I will inform all affected contacts. I will also inform the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) within the specified 72 hours, if it is likely that there will be a risk to people’s rights and freedoms, for example, if personal data has been stolen or passed on to an unauthorised party.
